There are quite a few ways to clean drains. You could use a gel like Liquid Plumr or Drano, but in order for these to be effective, they must be used more on a maintenance basis as part of your home’s standard upkeep. If you’re the type of home-owner that likes to DIY, you may have attempted to tackle a clogged drain yourself if it was easy to get to – like in a kitchen or bathroom sink. When dirt, mildew, grime, and grease build up in the pipes, you’re not going to be able to use either of these two methods of drain cleaning to any degree of success.
At Resolved Plumbing, we use a number of different professional drain cleaning options to unclog piping systems where draining has been slowed or stopped altogether. The top two methods of cleaning drains are with manual or electric snakes, and hydrojetting. Don’t try either of these two methods if you don’t know what you’re doing.
