DRAIN & SEWER PLUMBINGReplacement Sump Pumps & Repair Service

While some homeowners or commercial property managers might attempt to replace a sump pump on their own, you may want to skip the frustration and needless hours trudging around in a flooded basement. At Resolved Plumbing, our sump pump replacement services will do just that. Hiring our plumbers to install a new sump pump for you is ideal if you want to skip the hassle.

While we do offer a sump pump repair service, it is oftentimes more cost efficient just to get a replacement installed by a professional. Repairing one of these involves replacing the internal mechanisms which are usually only available from the original manufacturer. Then, you also have to consider the wait time if there isn’t a store in town that stocks the parts.

Walking around in standing water and messing with power cords could cause serious bodily harm, so why risk it? Give us a call for a free estimate.

Typical Problems with Sump Pumps

  • Normal wear and tear. The average lifespan of a sump pump is roughly 7-10 years. After a while, the parts begin to degrade and eventually fail.
  • Loud noise coming from the motor. When this happens, it usually means that the motor is coming close to its intended lifespan. Sump pumps make noises as they push water out of your home or commercial/industrial building, but too much noise is an indicator of trouble.
  • The pump is running continuously. A serious cause for concern is when the pump is constantly running. With the motor running dry, it will burn out very quickly. There’s no repair that can fix this. You’ll need a replacement installed.
  • Erratic cycling. If your sump pump seems like it keeps recycling the same water over and over, it could be a failed check valve. The water that’s supposed be be discharged isn’t quite making it out of the pit.
  • The pump and/or switches could be clogged. Since most sump pumps sit in an uncovered pit or “sump pump basin,” they tend to accumulate dirt and grit over time. This can jam the propeller blades and clog the pressure, causing the pump to burn up.

Sump Pump Replacement

Utilizing our sump pump replacement services will keep your home or industrial/commercial building dry and will help with properly draining ground water. By replacing your sump pump, you’ll be reducing the hydro-static pressure around your home, extending the lifespan of your foundation by keeping water where it should be – outside.

When our plumber arrives, he will assess the situation and inform you of your options. If you opt for a replacement pump, one can be installed in a matter of minutes.

Keep-in-mind: Sump pumps only work as long as they have power. Having a backup power supply to the motor is a great way to guarantee protection from flooding should your area lose power in an outage. By adding a simple backup power supply, you’ll be protected from power outages or a fuse being blown.
